“We Did Some Stuff. Please Clap.”

Letter From Leadership

This year, we remained deeply committed to social equity, community engagement, and looking like we care just enough to avoid getting yelled at on LinkedIn.

We understand the importance of repairing the harms caused by prohibition. We also understand the importance of maintaining strong margins.

Balancing both has been… inspirational.

Our Mission

To create lasting, meaningful change in communities impacted by the War on Drugs, while ensuring none of that change interferes with quarterly earnings.

Impact Highlights

  • Donated money to expungement groups We did not personally expunge any records, but we did write checks and then post about it.

  • Hosted community events Attendance ranged from “respectable” to “mostly employees who were told to be there.”

  • Launched equity initiatives These initiatives primarily consisted of:

    • informational webinars

    • vague mentorship

    • and a strong belief in everyone’s potential

  • Volunteer hours logged A mix of genuine participation and people silently wondering if this counts toward their performance review.

Expungement Efforts

We proudly supported the clearing of criminal records by:

  • partnering with organizations that actually do the work

  • amplifying their efforts on social media

  • ensuring our logo appeared somewhere on the flyer

We believe in second chances. Especially the kind that photograph well.

Diversity & Inclusion

We are committed to building a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve.

Progress includes:

  • internal conversations

  • new committees

  • updated slide decks

  • at least one uncomfortable all-hands meeting

We continue to explore what meaningful change might look like.

Community Investment

We invested in communities through:

  • sponsorships

  • donations

  • branded hoodies

While we cannot directly tie these efforts to long-term outcomes, we can confirm they were very well documented.

Advocacy

We support cannabis reform policies that:

  • align with our business interests

  • don’t disrupt our current licenses

  • sound good in press releases

We remain cautiously optimistic about justice, as long as it’s operationally convenient.

Employee Engagement

Our employees are the heart of our impact.

This year they:

  • volunteered

  • attended trainings

  • participated in initiatives

  • occasionally believed in the mission

We thank them for their enthusiasm and/or compliance.

Looking Ahead

In 2026, we plan to:

  • continue funding programs that generate strong PR value

  • refine our messaging around impact

  • explore deeper community partnerships (pending budget approval)

  • maintain the delicate balance between doing good and not doing too much

Closing Thoughts

At Green Thumb Industries, we believe social impact is a journey.

A carefully measured, well-branded, legally approved journey.

And while we may not be changing the world overnight, we are absolutely making sure it looks like we might.
